How many questions is the NCLEX-RN?
NCLEX-RN uses Computer Adaptive Testing — minimum 85 questions, maximum 150. The test stops when the algorithm is 95% confident you are above or below the passing standard.
What score do you need to pass NCLEX-RN?
NCLEX-RN is pass/fail. There is no numeric score — the CAT algorithm determines pass/fail based on demonstrated ability relative to the passing standard.
How long does NCLEX-RN take?
You have up to 5 hours. Most candidates finish in 2–3 hours.
What is the NCLEX-RN pass rate?
The national first-attempt pass rate for US-educated candidates is approximately 88%. Internationally educated candidates pass at approximately 45%.
